Last week, members of the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office participated in the Senior Congress “Getting Smarter at Getting Older” event in Westlake Village, sharing important information on how to prevent common financial scams targeting seniors.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn how to protect themselves and their loved ones from fraud. Education and awareness remain some of the most effective tools in keeping our community safe.

Representing our office at the event were Deputy District Attorney Katherine Plante, East County Family Justice Center Project Manager Christine Mitchell, and Senior Victim Advocate Kellie Tyndall. We were also glad to partner with Det. Jason Cashmark from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit.

Working together, we can help seniors stay informed, empowered, and protected.
